For the first time ever, the Middle East played host to Shell Eco-marathon. Qatar welcomed almost 750 brilliant participants from across 16 countries for an intense and exciting week of pushing the boundaries of energy efficiency.

The Communications Award highlights the importance of storytelling and outreach, rewarding teams that creatively and effectively communicate their Shell Eco-marathon journey.
Winner: Team Envision PNEC NUST – Urban, National University of Sciences and Technology Karachi, Pakistan
Judges’ Remarks: Team Envision PNEC NUST presented a holistic strategy that covered different stages of communication and had online and offline tactics to educate, excite and inform the audiences. The outreach and continuous effort to draw awareness around the subject was amazing
Runner-Up: Antasena ITS Team, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Indonesia
Data and Telemetry Award sponsored by Schmid Elektronik
The Data and Telemetry Award celebrates teams that harness the power of data to optimise vehicle performance and enhance overall strategy.
Winner: Batavia Gasoline Team, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Indonesia
Judges’ Remarks: Batavia Gasoline Team combines empirical analysis with focused AI and Machine Learning, thoroughly justifying each step, and testing multiple strategies. Recognizing that “ideal” racing isn’t optimal for Shell Eco-marathon, they developed new methodologies to address this. Their aviation-inspired driver feedback is simple and intuitive. The strategy and methods of this entry can be easily replicated and with limited resources.
Runner-Up: ITS TEAM SAPUANGIN, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Indonesia
Carbon Footprint Reduction Award sponsored by Shell Low Carbon Solutions
The Carbon Footprint Reduction Award is presented to teams demonstrating the most effective strategy in prioritising the reduction of carbon footprint while maintaining or enhancing mileage challenge performance, reflecting the growing importance of low-carbon transportation initiatives.
Winner: Team AVERERA, Indian Institute of Technology - Banaras Hindu University, India
Judges’ Remarks: Team AVERERA’s report showcased a well-structured life cycle assessment, evaluating trade-offs across carbon fiber, PCBs, and lubricants while incorporating innovative thinking on end-of-life tire management.
Runner-Up: Antasena ITS Team, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Indonesia
Technical Innovation Award sponsored by Southwest Research Institute
The Technical Innovation Award is granted to the team showcasing exceptional technical creativity and effective utilisation of novel materials, components, methodologies, and inventions in specific aspects of their vehicle, such as the drive train, chassis, body, instrumentation, or tires.
Winner: Team AVERERA, Indian Institute of Technology - Banaras Hindu University, India
Judges’ Remarks: Team AVERERA developed a novel electronic differential-based motor controller. This controller incorporated multiple prior design iterations and enhancements, resulting in a mature and capable controller optimized for the Shell Eco-marathon event as well as real world applications.

Safety Leadership Award
The safety award underscores safety's significance within Shell Eco-marathon, prompting all participating teams to actively integrate safe practices into their daily operations.
Winner: Maroon Mavericks, Texas A&M University at Qatar, Qatar
Judges’ Remarks: Maroon Mavericks demonstrated a great learner mindset showing us how they have developed and improved their safety culture. They had planned for how to stay safe onsite and had some great suggestions about how we could improve the overall safety management of the event.

Vehicle Design Award sponsored by Qatar Auto Museum
The Vehicle Design award recognises teams that excel in developing vehicles that are not only technically sound but also visually appealing and user-friendly.
Winner – Prototype: Antasena ITS Team, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Indonesia
Judges’ Remarks: The Antasena Falcon 2.0 Hydrogen Fuel Cell powered vehicle is an impressive Prototype that seamlesly blend esthetics, ergonomics, and innovation to create efficient and safe sustainable mobility.
Winner – Urban Concept: ITS TEAM SAPUANGIN, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Indonesia
Judges’ Remarks: ITS Team Sapuangin did great work to improving vehicle energy efficiency by continuously innovating various aspects of their Internal Combustion Engine vehicle, including the body, chassis, engine, and wheels.
Spirit of Shell Eco-marathon Award
This award celebrates teams that embody the core values of Shell Eco-marathon by showing exceptional teamwork, perseverance, and camaraderie.
Winner: Hyperion Racing, Monash University Malaysia, Malaysia
Judges’ Remarks: Hyperion Racing was nominated by multiple teams and staff, the winners spread positivity, kindness, and creativity throughout the event. Their engaging activities, including the "adopt a shell" booth, and strong team spirit made a lasting impact.
