Shell Eco-marathon Mini Events: Finally back on track
In 2022 we are delighted to be back to physical competitions in a brand-new format!
The new season mini events are based on our traditional mileage challenge, only smaller and more accessible, taking place at dedicated tracks across each region.

There are also many amazing opportunities for all teams to meet like-minded participants, share ideas, win some great prizes for each energy and vehicle type, and compete in exciting Off-Track Award categories.

The Marvelous City welcomed teams from Central and South America at a purpose-built bayside track at Pier Mauá to battle it out for the most energy-efficient vehicle.

Shell Eco-marathon is back to Circuit Paul Armagnac after 14 years! This is the first of two back-to-back mini events for Europe and Africa teams; open to vehicles in the Prototype ICE and Hydrogen categories.

Shell Eco-marathon 2022 Programme
The 2022 Programme combines the best of our physical and virtual competitions, with the reintroduction of track events where it is safe to do so and the return of the global Virtual League!
Shell Eco-marathon rules
Building an energy-efficient vehicle is only half the journey. Teams must also complete several design phases, pass a technical inspection, as well as adhering to track rules. Find them all here.
