2020 Virtual Off-Track Awards
The Off-Track Awards showcase the range of skills that go into each Shell Eco-marathon project and recognise the outstanding achievements of the teams off the track.
The annual awards give students the opportunity to compete across several categories, including safety, communications, technical innovation, and vehicle design for Urban Concept and Prototype.
In 2020, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the cancellation of the live events, we were unable to have physical award ceremonies, but we still wanted to find a way to still honour the students. So, with the support of our partners, special guests and an expert panel of judges, we announced the 2020 Off-Track Awards winners for the first time in virtual ceremonies, live on Instagram and Twitter.

Americas Off-Track Awards 2020
The first of our virtual ceremonies took place on May 6, 2020. The show was hosted by Norman Koch, Global General Manager Shell Eco-marathon and joined by selection of judges, our partners and very special guest, Shell-Pennzoil NASCAR driver Joey Logano.
Asia Off-Track Awards 2020
Winners were announced on June 3, 2020, once again by host Norman Koch, with a special guest appearance from F1 Scuderia Ferrari driver, Charles Leclerc.
Europe Off-Track Awards 2020
Host Norman Koch, convened the final region’s virtual ceremony on June 30, 2020 and this time our partners and panel of judges were joined by special guest, Nissan E.Dams Formula E driver, Oliver Rowland.
