Meet the Falcon UC Team from the USA

Introducing Falcon UC a young and passionate team who have proved that lack of experience does not amount to lack of ambition or success.

Falcon UC are a high school team from Armstrong High School, Minnesota, who are participating in Shell Eco-marathon for the first time, but despite being new to the programme, they have kicked off their career with storming to the top of the league in their region.

The team have faced many obstacles in their Shell Eco-marathon journey, the biggest being during the two years of the pandemic their original vehicle went missing and they had to build their vehicle from scratch. Their focus this season was to ensure their cars were as energy efficient as possible by focusing on the aerodynamics, and this focus paid off securing fourth place in the UC ICE category and overall regional winner at Shell Eco-marathon Americas.

These young STEM students want to live in a future where climate change is less of an issue and know they need to play their part. They believe sustainable energy is the best way to achieve that future and through designing an electric urban concept car, they are taking steps with their STEM skills to help. Most of this team will be going into electrical and engineering careers after college graduation with the ambition to evolve to a more sustainable future.

"We are taking steps to understand how we can use our STEM skills to help... play a part in creating a more sustainable future"
